Event: Meeting with the District Govenor at Bukit Kiara Equestrian Club
Well, it's something that all presidents of the respective Rotaract clubs should do. Give details to the District Govenor on the club's status, projects conducted, projects in planning and any problems faced by the club. Of course, this being my first meeting with the District Govenor as the president of my club. I'm obviously nervous, and not sure as to what to do and to bring.
Of course, I have to prepare a brief detail on my club's current status (which i have to shamefully admit, completed about half an hour before I left for the meeting venue ^^" ). Luckily the venue is quite near to my home. So, it took about 15 minutes to reach.
When I first met the District Govenor, he was a friendly person. Of course he's also a human being like me and you but I would still feel nervous. Luckily Calvin was there or else I would've embarassed myself. I tried my best to lay out the informations to the District Govenor. The good news is he's impressed with the projects that my club has done and planning to do (all thanks to my members and board of directors ^^ ). The bad news is that there're still certain issues we have to work on. With the support from the members, we'll definitely try our best.
After the meeting, me, Calvin and Amanda (who came during the meeting) had a bit of fun session at the bowling alley in the club. My skills at bowling is not really good. There were only 3 of us playing there. So guess who made the loudest noise when we were playing (imagine an elephant stamping it's foot with a lot of strength and you'll know what kind of sound the bowling ball makes when it landed on the floor after my throws --" It's a miracle the floor doesn't splinter). After that, Calvin and I joined the rotarians for a little bit of dinner (Amanda has to go back and rest after travelling from her hometown the previous day).
To tell the truth, this is my 2nd meeting with a District Govenor in my whole life (the first one was when I'm still a member of the Interact club of my school). It's kind of funny to feel nervous even now after a few years. Hopefully I don't feel so nervous in future events.
