Like A Brother

Like A Brother

Ok Guys,

I know it's too soon to put up my first fan fiction as mentioned in my earlier post. I actually completed this in 1 month last year. Now I'm working on a second one. Please bear with the grammar mistakes as I didn't had time to go through each chapter in detail when I did them. ^^"

My first fan fiction of SHINee was called "Like A Brother" because I didn't have any other better ideas. So, it sounds lame.

Well, here goes my prologue and the first chapter:

Prologue
My life,
Engulfed in complete darkness.
Yet within it,
A bright light shines.
Telling me not to give up,
As I reach out my hands towards it…
Chapter 1
To my adorable Min Lee,
How are things back at home? I’ve found a decent place to stay in Seoul which is nearby the school that I’m attending. Enclosed is the address where I live. I’m a bit nervous about my first day tomorrow. Hope everything will be alright. I’ve also found a part-time job in a nearby music store to support myself. So there’s no need to worry about me. Tell Mom and Dad that I miss you guys. Be a good boy and listen to them.
Regards,
Jin Woo Hyung
Jin Woo
It was a great day as I got dressed and headed for school. As I arrived at the school gate, a huge crowd was blocking the entrance and causing a lot of commotion. Most of them were girls wearing the same school uniform.
“Kyaa…!! It’s them…!!” One shouted.
“They look so handsome always. Enough to melt my heart.” Another sighed.
“We love you SHINee!!” one group of the girls shouted.
Being ignorant, I pushed my way through the crowd. Apologising to others along the way as I headed towards the staff room. I knocked on the door before entering. “Good morning, I’m Kim Jin Woo.” I announced loudly.
Just then, one of the staff came over. “Ah, the new transfer student. I’m Choi Kang Min.” the staff introduced himself.
“Nice to meet you, Sir.” I greeted him politely.
“Nice to meet you too. Just call me Mr. Choi will do.” Mr. Choi replied. “The Principal has informed me on your arrival and has decided to assign you into my class.” He added.
Just then the first bell rang.
“Ah, time for the first session. Now, Jin Woo, if you could kindly wait for a bit while I collect my things. I’ll lead you to the classroom and introduce you to the others.” Mr. Choi said as he went to his desk to collect the materials. As we headed towards the classroom, Mr. Choi explained that he teaches History and also shared a bit of the background regarding the school.
“Wait here until I tell you to enter.” Mr. Choi instructed as I nod my head before he opened the doors to the classroom. There were curious glances and whispers were heard as other students tried to see who it was.
“Now everyone, as I mentioned before, we have a new transfer student assigned to our class starting today. I want all of you to give him a warm welcome and treat as you to everyone else.” Mr. Choi explained and looked at me. “You can come in now.” He said.
“Here goes…” I said to myself as I entered and faced the whole class.
“If you would kindly introduce yourself please.” Mr. Choi requested.
“My name is Kim Jin Woo. I’m 19 years old and currently staying by myself. I have a younger brother who stays with my parents overseas.” I introduced myself. There was a brief silence followed by claps and cheers.
“Alright, settle down.” Mr. Choi instructed. “Now, the person who has the honour to show Jin Woo the layout of our school will be…” He searched the classroom while trying to appoint a student. Just then, there was a soft snoring sound as he tried to locate the source.
“Jonghyun…Why am I not surprised?” He said. “You can place your bag at the sit behind him.” Mr. Choi instructed as others around the sleeping student tried to wake him up while I moved towards my indicated seat.
Jonghyun
Just when I was having a good dream, someone had to go and wake me up. There was a soft ruffling sound as I turned around and saw a guy placing down his bag.
“Jonghyun, I believe you haven’t met the new transfer student yet. Which you will have the honour to show him around the school grounds for now.” Mr. Choi explained.
“What!? Why me?” I was surprised at the statement.
“Well, if you concentrate more in class rather than sleeping almost half of the time, you wouldn’t have to do this.” Mr. Choi replied.
Groan…why must I take care of a newbie? I glared at the new student as I got up from my seat and moved towards the door. He has dark hair with hazel eyes, and behind that spectacle was a face that was able to dissolve all feelings of uneasiness.
“Jin Woo, Jonghyun will show you around the school grounds for now. As for the others, let us continue from where we left last week…” Mr. Choi continued with the lesson as the student came over.
“Alright newbie, you better remember it because I will only show you once.” I said to him.
The student looked at me. “Sure, and the name’s Jin Woo. Not newbie.” He replied.
He’s got character.
We’ve walked through the cafeteria, the school gym and field, the science labs and other areas in the school. But there’re only two places that I liked. One of them which I’m about to show him. “This is the music room. Where people can practice their musical skills here.” I explained to the student as I turned around. He was standing at the door looking inside, with a smile on his face.
“I guess you like this room, Jin Woo right?” I asked.
He turned to look at me. “Yes, I like music. My parents used to work as singers in a night club and I grew up listening to the old songs from their generation.”
Just then, the bell rang. “Well, first session is over. I’ve already showed you around school. Time to head back.” Both of us walked back towards the class.
In the evening…
Jin Woo
I’ve just got back from work. Placing down two bags of groceries while I searched for the keys, an MPV stopped at the house right beside mine as a few persons got down before the vehicle left. I turned around to greet my neighbours and was surprised before I said anything. One of them was none other than the guy who showed me around school today, Jonghyun.
“Hi there, neighbour.” He greeted me with a smile. Behind him were others which I’ve met in class today. Onew, Minho, Key and Taemin. Things are just starting to get more interesting…

Something New

Hi guys,

Wow...it's been a year I didn't update my blog...shame *cries*
Anyway, just to share something new. I've recently joined a kpop fan site for the boy group SHINee. Loved their music and their personalities after watching Hello Baby season 2 on youtube ^^
The link for the fansite is as follows:
http://www.shineee.net/index.php?

I got to meet a lot of other fans from other countries there. Apparently, fanboys are considered rare for boygroups. Lol

I enjoyed chatting with other fans as well as post my fan fiction once in a while when I have the time to work on the stories. So far I've already completed one and will start posting the chapters one by one here for those who don't wanna join the site to read them. Got a few comments from the other fangirls and I was excited about it.

Just to briefly introduce, a fan fiction works like a normal fiction but your idol will be in the story as well. In my case, it would be SHINee.

Well, that's all. I'll start posting the chapters at least monthly or weekly if possible. Wish me luck ^^

More updates

Hi everyone,

Well, I know it's been a long time again since I didn't update my blog. But here's what happened during the past few months.

October
Well, it's my birthday month. (^^) my friends and I celebrated by going to the Red Box karaoke in Sunway Pyramid. Though the bad news is, I was starting to have a sore throat. But, some how I managed to stretch my vocal cords. But really, I've enjoyed it just as I've enjoyed all the previous ones. Thanks gang.

The day before that, I had a fun time going Zorbing at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa organised by RAC Subang. It was real great fun and I've enjoyed it a lot. If only we could go for a few more rounds though. (^^")

November
Well, nothing extraordinary happened.

December
It's the ACCA exam around the corner soon. But I'm also looking forward to another activity. The District Rotaract Conference. I know I'm supposed to focus on my studies. But I just can't help looking forward for the 3 days 2 nights event. Hopefully I can take lots of pictures and share with everyone.

Well, that's all from my side.

The Good Old Days

Hi all,

Just a few days ago, I went online to check my mail as usual when I came across an interesting one from Facebook. It's a notice that one of my friends posted a picture there and I was tagged. So, I went to take a look, and found out that it was from my primary school days. Imagine getting to post replies with your old time buddies there and laugh as you read them. Just can't help it. I really miss those days. Hope all of us can meet up together again some time. Until then, take care.

Hi There ^^

I know it's been a long time I didn't put up any posts. So, here are the things that happened to me a few months ago:

July
A new term for the Rotary and Rotaract clubs. So I passed on my position as President to Calvin Khoo. Congrats and I wish him all the best for this term.
A new job as an auditor at a chartered accountants firm located at Kompleks Mutiara near Jalan Ipoh. Starts at 8.30am till 6.00pm. My supervisor and seniors are very friendly and helpful. I've learned a lot while doing my assignments.

August
Club installations galore ^^. Although I didn't attend all of them, I'm sure they were all great ones. I've attended KL, Pudu, Subang and of course, my own home club installation. I really enjoyed them.

September
Now, I'm currently trying to finish up some of my work assignments that are due. Also trying to juggle with 2 ACCA papers. Hopefully I can pass them in this term.

Well, that's all from me for now. hope to find more interesting things that I can share with everyone in the future.

Until then ^^

A soothing cut o.O?

Have you ever been into a barber shop? Where you'll hear indian music station from the radio, the air-conditioning and the steady hum of the buzzer (I don't know what they're called but I'll call them buzzers) and the snipping of the scissors. I've been to the same barber shop outside my house since young. Strangely, whenever I get my haircut there, I always get drowsy and relaxed. Guessed it's something that usually happens. Of course with the peaceful surroundings inside the barber shop, who wouldn't relax and fall asleep?

Well, at least I don't have to be scared to getting a haircut like what normal kids do when they're young. ^^

This is me before

This is me after I got my haircut

An enjoyable conference ^^

Date: 28th March 2009

Event: 4th District Rotaract Conference at Eagle Ranch Resort, Port Dickson

A conference in Port Dickson, with fun water activities and laughter. Sadly, I didn't get to enjoy the first day on the 27th which is Friday...I had a night class. I went to college the next morning, and ended up absent from the supposedly Advance Corporate Reporting class. It wouldn't look nice for the lecturer to see me leaving with my bags and stuff...especially Ms. Menon. So I went for a bit of cyber games and breakfast with my friend. Of course my luggage was kept in my friend's car till it's time to set off with Amanda around 1.30pm (thanks Billy ^^). Luckily she's working half day or else it'll be difficult to find a transport to the destination.

We picked up Kevit along the way from his home and had our lunch at Burger King. Then we continued our way the whole afternoon chatting in the car. We slowed down a few times due to accidents along the highway and typical busybody attitude of Malaysian drivers slowing down just to have a look. How long will it take them to understand that this is pointless unless they're intending to stop and help?

When we arrived to Eagle Ranch Resort, it was about 6pm and just in time to get ready for dinner. The participants of the conference were placed in the Log Dormitories which is actually a nice place to stay in with electricity, attached bathrooms and toilets and double decker beds. Of course Amanda was assigned to a different dorm so that leaves me and Kevit with 18 other dorm mates. Just as we settled down, our dorm mates returned in a wet and soggy state. They definitely had a real fun time down the nearby beach and they definitely need to use the bathrooms to get ready for the dinner. So, I waited a while since I wouldn't take long to shower.

The theme of the dinner was cowboy night, I had the proper shirt, jeans, a bandanna as the scarf, but I don't have the shoes or the hat. Turns out, I'm the only one dressed like a bandit. Kevit was dressed like a proper sheriff with a vest and cowboy hat. There was also a best cowboy and cowgirl competition. There were 3 cowgirls and 5 cowboys including myself. But I didn't win the competition. Everybody had fun strutting in their catwalk and made their best poses. There was also a birthday celebration for the District Govenor who was the guest of honour for the conference.

After the dinner, we also celebrated the Earth Hour by switching off our table lights and a night walk. Of course we had to get back to change into a proper attire and carry bug repelents. Some of my dorm mates and myself went back to get changed and was stumped as none of us had the dorm key. We found a way in through the back window which was not locked. the 9 of us got changed but only one didn't joined the walk. So the rest of us waited for someone to get the dorm key and open the door.

The night was cool, and the participants were ready. We were briefed by the resort staff and was told that there were a few spiritual beings before setting off. The resort staff brought us to the back gate, did a head count and we're on our way into the forest for our walk. There were a few other resort staffs travelling along with torchlights to show the way. We bent, squatted, went up the slopes and went down. All the while watching out and warning those behind us for branches, roots, stumps, stones, slopes and ditches. When we got out of the forest halfway, I looked to the sky and it was beautiful. A clear starry night sky which you can't find often in the city. After a while of walking, we're back into the forest and made our way back to the resort.

At the end of the walk, we're all sweaty and enjoyed ourselves. Most of the participants went out for late night Ramlee burger supper. While some hang out in the dorms to have fellowship. I only managed to last till about 12am before I had to retire to my bunk in my dorm room. I woke up the next day around 6.30am, rested for a while before freshening up myself and listened to my iPod outside the dorm. Around 7am, I went to get a shower and ready for breakfast. At that time, the guys who shared the dorm with me were still sleeping. I went ahead to the breakfast venue and was joined by few of the girls from the organising committee (Lucky me ^^). While we started to have our breakfast, there was another group of residents who had a family day at the resort entered to have breakfast as well. By the time everyone's inside, all the tables were taken save for the ones we occupied. Each table is occupied by one family.

Due to unforseen circumstances, everyone was suddenly called to wake up and got ready for the remaining programs during the day. Once prepared, the participants were motivated by the talks given by the Rotarians and there was also a forum session to discuss and suggest how to improve the District as a whole. After a short break for the participants to pack up and clear out the dorms, there was a short closing and certificate presentation ceremony. While waiting for the members of the organising committee to completely settle their issues, we had our favourite cam-whoring sessions (I wonder if such a term even exists...Lol). Followed by a drive to Seremban to have crabs or lunch. I've enjoyed the conference and really looking forward to the next one (I had so much fun that sometimes I laughed until stomach pain and I sounded like a ghost...Lol). That is, if I could attend the next conference ^^".
