The Good Old Days

Hi all,

Just a few days ago, I went online to check my mail as usual when I came across an interesting one from Facebook. It's a notice that one of my friends posted a picture there and I was tagged. So, I went to take a look, and found out that it was from my primary school days. Imagine getting to post replies with your old time buddies there and laugh as you read them. Just can't help it. I really miss those days. Hope all of us can meet up together again some time. Until then, take care.

Hi There ^^

I know it's been a long time I didn't put up any posts. So, here are the things that happened to me a few months ago:

July
A new term for the Rotary and Rotaract clubs. So I passed on my position as President to Calvin Khoo. Congrats and I wish him all the best for this term.
A new job as an auditor at a chartered accountants firm located at Kompleks Mutiara near Jalan Ipoh. Starts at 8.30am till 6.00pm. My supervisor and seniors are very friendly and helpful. I've learned a lot while doing my assignments.

August
Club installations galore ^^. Although I didn't attend all of them, I'm sure they were all great ones. I've attended KL, Pudu, Subang and of course, my own home club installation. I really enjoyed them.

September
Now, I'm currently trying to finish up some of my work assignments that are due. Also trying to juggle with 2 ACCA papers. Hopefully I can pass them in this term.

Well, that's all from me for now. hope to find more interesting things that I can share with everyone in the future.

Until then ^^

A soothing cut o.O?

Have you ever been into a barber shop? Where you'll hear indian music station from the radio, the air-conditioning and the steady hum of the buzzer (I don't know what they're called but I'll call them buzzers) and the snipping of the scissors. I've been to the same barber shop outside my house since young. Strangely, whenever I get my haircut there, I always get drowsy and relaxed. Guessed it's something that usually happens. Of course with the peaceful surroundings inside the barber shop, who wouldn't relax and fall asleep?

Well, at least I don't have to be scared to getting a haircut like what normal kids do when they're young. ^^

This is me before

An enjoyable conference ^^

Date: 28th March 2009

Event: 4th District Rotaract Conference at Eagle Ranch Resort, Port Dickson

A conference in Port Dickson, with fun water activities and laughter. Sadly, I didn't get to enjoy the first day on the 27th which is Friday...I had a night class. I went to college the next morning, and ended up absent from the supposedly Advance Corporate Reporting class. It wouldn't look nice for the lecturer to see me leaving with my bags and stuff...especially Ms. Menon. So I went for a bit of cyber games and breakfast with my friend. Of course my luggage was kept in my friend's car till it's time to set off with Amanda around 1.30pm (thanks Billy ^^). Luckily she's working half day or else it'll be difficult to find a transport to the destination.

We picked up Kevit along the way from his home and had our lunch at Burger King. Then we continued our way the whole afternoon chatting in the car. We slowed down a few times due to accidents along the highway and typical busybody attitude of Malaysian drivers slowing down just to have a look. How long will it take them to understand that this is pointless unless they're intending to stop and help?

When we arrived to Eagle Ranch Resort, it was about 6pm and just in time to get ready for dinner. The participants of the conference were placed in the Log Dormitories which is actually a nice place to stay in with electricity, attached bathrooms and toilets and double decker beds. Of course Amanda was assigned to a different dorm so that leaves me and Kevit with 18 other dorm mates. Just as we settled down, our dorm mates returned in a wet and soggy state. They definitely had a real fun time down the nearby beach and they definitely need to use the bathrooms to get ready for the dinner. So, I waited a while since I wouldn't take long to shower.

The theme of the dinner was cowboy night, I had the proper shirt, jeans, a bandanna as the scarf, but I don't have the shoes or the hat. Turns out, I'm the only one dressed like a bandit. Kevit was dressed like a proper sheriff with a vest and cowboy hat. There was also a best cowboy and cowgirl competition. There were 3 cowgirls and 5 cowboys including myself. But I didn't win the competition. Everybody had fun strutting in their catwalk and made their best poses. There was also a birthday celebration for the District Govenor who was the guest of honour for the conference.

After the dinner, we also celebrated the Earth Hour by switching off our table lights and a night walk. Of course we had to get back to change into a proper attire and carry bug repelents. Some of my dorm mates and myself went back to get changed and was stumped as none of us had the dorm key. We found a way in through the back window which was not locked. the 9 of us got changed but only one didn't joined the walk. So the rest of us waited for someone to get the dorm key and open the door.

The night was cool, and the participants were ready. We were briefed by the resort staff and was told that there were a few spiritual beings before setting off. The resort staff brought us to the back gate, did a head count and we're on our way into the forest for our walk. There were a few other resort staffs travelling along with torchlights to show the way. We bent, squatted, went up the slopes and went down. All the while watching out and warning those behind us for branches, roots, stumps, stones, slopes and ditches. When we got out of the forest halfway, I looked to the sky and it was beautiful. A clear starry night sky which you can't find often in the city. After a while of walking, we're back into the forest and made our way back to the resort.

At the end of the walk, we're all sweaty and enjoyed ourselves. Most of the participants went out for late night Ramlee burger supper. While some hang out in the dorms to have fellowship. I only managed to last till about 12am before I had to retire to my bunk in my dorm room. I woke up the next day around 6.30am, rested for a while before freshening up myself and listened to my iPod outside the dorm. Around 7am, I went to get a shower and ready for breakfast. At that time, the guys who shared the dorm with me were still sleeping. I went ahead to the breakfast venue and was joined by few of the girls from the organising committee (Lucky me ^^). While we started to have our breakfast, there was another group of residents who had a family day at the resort entered to have breakfast as well. By the time everyone's inside, all the tables were taken save for the ones we occupied. Each table is occupied by one family.

Due to unforseen circumstances, everyone was suddenly called to wake up and got ready for the remaining programs during the day. Once prepared, the participants were motivated by the talks given by the Rotarians and there was also a forum session to discuss and suggest how to improve the District as a whole. After a short break for the participants to pack up and clear out the dorms, there was a short closing and certificate presentation ceremony. While waiting for the members of the organising committee to completely settle their issues, we had our favourite cam-whoring sessions (I wonder if such a term even exists...Lol). Followed by a drive to Seremban to have crabs or lunch. I've enjoyed the conference and really looking forward to the next one (I had so much fun that sometimes I laughed until stomach pain and I sounded like a ghost...Lol). That is, if I could attend the next conference ^^".

My Memories in HS5

Hi all,

Since I've told you guys how I was addicted to the online game Highstreet 5, I guess it's appropriate to share with you a bit of what I've been through in the game since I first join. Hope you guys enjoy the video. Although things are not as they are now but I hope everyone can still keep in touch again once in a while. I'll still play the game whenever I can as long as I'm free. (^^)

Twice touched in the heart

Today, I didn't have any plans at all as I didn't have any class as my lecturer is in China (but it may be one of those rare occasions where there's no class on a saturday T_T ). As I was playing games on the computer, Archana SMSed wondering what I was doing. Not knowing that I didn't have a class. After a short while, Khairi also SMSed asking if I wanted to go out to meet her. I asked Billy if he would like to join but he's tied down with family commitments. So, I asked Khairi to come and pick me up.

We met up with Archana in Sunway Pyramid and had lunch at McD. After that, we helped her present hunting for a married couple and a friend's birthday. And ended up buying a set of beautiful china bowls for the couple and earrings as her friend's birthday present. Since it's still early (it was around 1.45pm), we decided to catch a movie, which took a short time to consider and decide. We ended up watching "Marley and Me".

I didn't read the book before but here's a little bit about the story. It's about John and Jenny Grogan going through their lives' ups and downs with the world's worst dog, Marley. There were mostly funny scenes in the movie but near towards the end, the scene was sad and touching that I actually cried a bit (yes I did, so go ahead and laugh your heads off if you want to). I was actually surprised that Archana was surprised to see me cry (She was sitting between me and Khairi in the cinema). We did a bit of window shopping before leaving.

Then, after I reached home and had my shower and dinner, I watched "Quill" at 8.30pm on 8tv. It's a japanese movie dubbed in Cantonese about the life of Quill as a guide dog for the blind. Also near the ending of the show, I nearly cried (Strike 2 =="). Wow, got touched in the heart twice in a day. How lucky can I be...lol.

Meow o.O ?

Well...there used to be questions like "Are you a dog person or a cat person?" or "Are you a dog person ?". After much time, I think I'm a cat person ^^". The reason is this, although I have affinity towards cute animals in the pet shops, I'm always looking out for cute cats as well. Somehow, I've developed an affinity towards cats.

Just last month, two of the stray females gave birth behind my house. Giving a total of 6 kittens ^^. But now, the kittens are still not familiar with me and my family yet. Always go hiding whenever any of us appears. Now that they've moved to the porch of my house, the kittens would hide under the long dormant old VW Beetle ^^". Then, there's another kitten appeared behind my house which none of us has any idea of its origin. But even that fella is afraid of us too.

Not just only that, the kittens in my front porch managed to leave traces of their terror. Some of my mom's plants got snapped, the shoelaces on my shoes got untied and my slippers ended up on polar opposites the next day (There was once one of my slippers ended up under the VW). For the kittens in my front porch, the whole area including the flower pots is their playground. Sometimes, when I stood still, they would dash out while playing with each other and accidentally bumped into my legs, and ran back into their hiding place when they noticed who does the legs belong to when I teased them ^^.

Though they can be little nuisances, it was cute and fun to silently watch them play around. I hope that I can manage to tame some of them in the future.
